persuasive essay - racism

Summary:
Imagine the frustration of knowing that the last scholarship available to a university went to someone due to race, national origin, or etc. Would this make you angry? Once anger begins when it comes to problems with racism, often the problems continue to grow. My opinion is that racism is a problem that hurts everyone. Racism is a fact in life today. It is pure discrimination and cannot be allowed in employment or in education. Racism hurts everyone involved.

Racism is the violation of the rights of a group of people on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry. The term racism may also denote a blind and unreasoning hatred, malice or prejudice. Discrimination is the denial of equality based on personal attributes

Discrimination Hurts Everyone

Racism is the violation of the rights of a group of people on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, place of origin or ancestry. The term racism implies blind hatred, malice, or prejudice. Discrimination is the denial of equality based on personal attributes, such as race and color. Discrimination is customarily based on prejudice and stereotypes. Racism poisons the atmosphere of trust we need in order to live in peace and harmony.
Racism is a fact in life today. It is pure discrimination and cannot be allowed in employment or in education. Racism hurts everyone involved.
In the essence of the above definition of racism, awarding college scholarships to students who do not really qualify for it is ‘open discrimination.’ This can be described as snatching somebody’s right to education. When a student is discriminated against, the student will only create hatred in the mind and heart of the individual who id deprived of this scholarship.
For example, if a scholarship is given to an African-American due to his race, the individual who does not get the scholarship and knows the reason is due to race will learn to hate African Americans. The same is true if the scholarship is only give to “whites”, then the African American will hate the “whites” for depriving them of the scholarship. This causes discord and disharmony.
The idea behind every discriminative act is the assumption that, the person or group we are in favor of will yield more positive results. The most devastating fact is stereotype individuals or groups merely on the basis of pre-conceived assumption. Like, in the western world, all Asians are considered to be cheaters. That’s not true. We cannot stereotype simply because he or she belongs to a particular class or race.
True diversity is needed not only in employment, but also it must be part of every university. Scholarships should be given for the intended purposes, not just because the university is required to give so many Native American scholarships or so many African Americans. Let the students earn their scholarships based on their grades or etc. I believe that racism hurts everyone. (learn how to write a persuasive essay)
